About Sunrise Health

Hi, I’m Katie Speights

I founded Sunrise Health because I am passionate about helping people live happier and healthier lives. I am a licensed massage therapist (LMT #6752) and a certified health coach, which allows me to provide direct healing as well as to help people help themselves by facilitating lifestyle changes.

Before pursuing a career in health and wellness, I worked as a chemical engineer for almost a decade, where I analyzed data and conducted research to make manufacturing facilities run more efficiently.

As a health coach and massage therapist, I bring the same level of analysis and thoroughness to my work. The human body is fascinatingly complex and interconnected, and I feel privileged to learn more about it every day through my work. I believe that people deserve healthcare that is both holistic and evidence-based, and that is what I strive to provide at Sunrise Health.

How I Can Help

Massage Therapy

As a massage therapist, my primary goal is helping people move and feel better in their bodies, whether it be through improving range of motion, easing chronic pains, or relieving stress.

My philosophy is that massage doesn’t need to (and shouldn’t!) hurt to be effective. Rather than offering separate deep tissue or Swedish style massages, I customize every massage based on what the individual needs. Receiving a therapeutic benefit doesn’t have to mean sacrificing relaxation and comfort.

I experienced firsthand how transformative massage can be when I sought it out for relief from my TMJ disorder symptoms, and now I hope to provide the same healing touch for others.

I studied massage therapy at Bluewater Institute for Massage Therapy in Killen, AL and received my license in 2025.

Health Coaching

The most impactful habits for your health are generally simple: get enough sleep, eat fewer processed foods, etc. Unfortunately simple doesn’t mean easy, and knowledge may not be enough to spark lasting change.

I completed my health coaching certification through Duke Integrative Medicine in 2020, and I chose health coaching because I saw how powerful of a tool it can be for bridging that gap between knowledge and action. Most of us don’t need more information on the trendiest “superfoods” or how to tweak our weight lifting protocol for 5% more gains. We just need to a way to incorporate the basic information we already have into our busy lives.

This is where I come in. I help people build healthy habits they can stick with and enjoy long-term.
